Baywest Homes' new show home in Harmony offers a spacious family home with four bedrooms above grade.
In most cases, the eating bar on the kitchen island will have space for three people. Sometimes, in larger spaces, it seats four. The Rosalie, by Baywest Homes, takes one’s interest in entertaining in their home to heart. Measuring 2,578 square feet, this front-drive single-family model is displayed in the form of a show home in the community of Harmony. The award-winning lake community is positioned just west of Calgary limits.
Rosalie’s centrally located kitchen is U-shaped, luxurious and grand. An eating bar off one side of the counter, backing onto the dining area, has seating for six people, supporting the needs of a substantial get-together. A sink faces this eating bar, promoting eye contact and conversation between the cook and their guests. The island in this kitchen is designed for food preparation and has plenty of space around it, making it easy for multiple people to circulate. There is storage at the base of the island, on two walls, and all three sides of the counter, significantly reducing the chance of a disorganized kitchen.
The dining area connects to the 15-foot six-inch by 13-foot four-inch great room through an open-concept design. Both rooms back onto a series of windows, pulling in large volumes of sunlight. Beyond the ability to host, the scale of this home’s shared spaces can also be essential to the day-to-day needs of a large family. If including a developed basement, as seen in this show home, the model can have six bedrooms.
On the second floor, a bonus room separates its master bedroom from the other bedrooms. As many parents will appreciate, a key consideration when moving children into a new home is bedroom size. It’s important to know one’s adolescents won’t feel like they’ve outgrown their bedrooms once they’re reached their teens. All the secondary bedrooms in this home are well-sized, with the largest reaching 10 feet by 12 feet six inches. Each of these bedrooms are within a few steps of a full bathroom. Further accounting for large family use, the bathroom boasts a vanity with two sinks beneath a full-width mirror, making it easy for two children brush their teeth and comb their hair at the same time.
In the master, the ensuite dazzles. It is generous in proportions and features several upscale elements, such as a spacious free-standing, glass-encased shower with striking full-height tile. This tile is carried over as an accent surround on an adjacent soaker tub, positioned beneath a window. Like the full bathroom, this one also has two sinks, with plenty of space between them. The ensuite provides direct access to a walk-in closet, which also links to the laundry room. Equipped with a sink, and front-load washer and dryer, this room can also be entered from the hallway.
For people who need a space to work remotely, there’s a home office just off the kitchen. If an office is unnecessary, this room can be repurposed to support the owner’s preferences. Those who appreciate privacy will value the design of the foyer. From the front door, views of the rest of the main floor are completely restricted.
