At Baywest Homes, our team’s passion and dedication are what set us apart. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Cory, a valuable member of our team who brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and a love for creating homes that truly resonate with their owners. Let’s get to know him better!
Finding a Passion for Homebuilding
Cory’s journey into the real estate development and housing industry began in the late 1990s when he moved to Calgary. Surprised by the sheer number of homebuilders and the high volume of construction in the city, he saw an opportunity to start his career.
“Being a new grad from an AT program, I thought it would be a great place to begin,” Cory shares.
After gaining experience in homebuilding, he explored other areas of the construction industry, including commercial design and modular construction. However, it wasn’t long before he realized what he truly missed—the personal connection to homeowners and the satisfaction of helping bring their dream homes to life.
What Sets Baywest Homes Apart?
For Cory, it’s the people and the relationships that stand out the most.
“I have witnessed the connection to the homeowners, especially with the construction crews. The level of detail they know about our customers and how they remember their home years after it is completed always amazes me,” he says.
This commitment to building not just homes but lasting relationships is a cornerstone of Baywest’s approach.
A Year of Exciting Projects
Cory has been with Baywest Homes for about a year and a half now, and he’s enjoyed being part of the company’s work in vibrant new communities like CreekView and Rockland Park.
“The most exciting thing has been building in these new communities,” he shares.
The opportunity to work on innovative projects in growing neighborhoods is something he finds incredibly rewarding.
Getting to Know Cory
When Cory isn’t busy creating stunning homes, he’s dreaming of adventure. Here are some fun facts about him:
If his life were a movie: Steve Carell would play him. “Because he’s just as socially awkward (I mean smooth) as I am, haha,” Cory jokes.
His ideal vacation: Days spent riding the bike park in Whistler or heli-skiing in BC. “I would take either or both!”
On his bucket list: Skiing in Northern Japan.
Most adventurous experience: Paragliding off Mount 7 in Golden, BC.
At Baywest Homes, it’s people like Cory who make our work truly meaningful. Stay tuned for more team member spotlights as we continue to share the stories of the incredible individuals behind our success.
